I'm a recent (2 years) citizen of Nevada, and own a 1967 MCI5A, converted to RV of course.
The registration here is WAY higher here than it was in Washington State, but upon investigation I found that under the "body style" information, is inserted "Bus" rather than listed as an RV so I wonder what others are paying just as a reference.
My registration fee is $550 a year, is that right. What are you paying?
Ed
$585 here in Texas. Weight on title 42,000 lbs.
Some states may charge by weight and some by value. My fee in Ca is less than $100.
Years ago (70's) My boss would register his bus in Oregon instead of Texas. Said it was much cheaper. All he had to do then was get a po box in state.
$65.50 for 5 years in Az. of course we do have a state income tax too.
Like it or not $328 Elko County this spring.

You might want to check about changing the registration to motor home. In California it makes a big difference. You are basically a car then. A bus is a lot more.

Our, 74 Eagle in Nevada with rv on title is i around 50 bucks more or less , it cost more for the 97 jeep, i am in Lander county though it should not matter, you need to get bus off your title.
Good Luck, Matt
Sommersed, I'm in Clark County, where are you at? This year I paid $64 and it is an rv, was this a purchase, if that's so you may be paying tax, lvmci...by the way, Nevada busconversion & mcibustalk and eagle forum folks or any olther busnuts, it would be nice to find out how many busnuts live in Nevada north and south, lvmci
We pay around a hundred, registered as a motor home.
I used to be in Nevada. Last year i registered the bus as "rv" in Montana cost just north of $200 for permanent registration...never have to touch it again as long as I live.
I just renewed my plates in North Carolina, $28.00 and a safety inspection at less than $14.00. Registered as a "House Car" RV. Move East.

I went to the local DMV office this morning, explained my concerns, showed them my old paperwork from Washington State showing it was reg. as a RV, showed them my ins. papers that shows it's insured as an RV, and lastly, showed them a picture of my 5A parked in the desert with awning out, solar panels up, and antenna's deployed.
The reworked my paperwork which decreased my registration fees from $550, to around $200. Wow!

It is not a REAL BUS it is an OUTLAW BUS it is missing one axle, and a nut behind the steering wheel, no wait, I will think of something funny, I can do this .... Two Army Privates, fresh out of tank school, get on a bus with an alligator, no wait, that is not right.
What was the question?

We are paying just over $100 for our MCI-7 in Las Vegas. Registered as a RV and I was thinking I was paying too much.
