Title: need fuse block replacement
Post by: David Anderson on April 21, 2012, 09:28:49 PM
I had a light circuit fail on a set of house lights and checked the fuse.  A portion of the fuse block was melted and I can't even remove the fuse.  The block is made by Apex which I can no longer find.  I've had trouble with these blocks before.  They are six ganged fuses feed by a #6 awg wire back to my 12v buss bar.  I found a replacement.

This is very similar and will work with a bit of modification.  All my 12v branch circuits are push on spade terminals.  This block in the link is ring terminal.  Anyone have any source for a spade terminal block?

Thanks,
David

Look at Dell City wire and West marine.  Sorry I don't have the URL's but they should be an easy Google search.  I use Dell City in my business and have been very happy with them.  They are also a good source for battery cable size wire and  terminals.

I ordered six of these today.

I'm going to replace all six of the Apex fuse blocks.  I have no confidence in their integrity.

I'll post back after I get them all changed out.
