After removing wheels, brake drums ect on front wheels. Inspecting everything and bringing in an outside consultant. The conclusion has been reached that my radius rod bushings are the likely source of my clunk and need to be replaced. The problem I am faceing is I do not want to do it. I want to be off looking for a house, not crawling around under a bus. I guess with enough pain pills?
Maybe I could do a radius rod bushing replacement seminar? Anybody want to sign up? It will be a hands on seminar. Could even be done in your area!
I'd be happy to help you replace your radius rod bushings if you want to do it in MN!
Jim,
You can head back up to Timmonsville and I'll be happy to do the dirty deed for you.
Besides, Cat wants to see her buddy again!

Just curious how you guys came to that conclusion. Is there obvious movement in the bushings?
When you do the replacement, it would be great if you could take photos of the process, and the parts as you remove them to show the wear. Might be useful in diagnosing worn bushings.

I thought the easy way to check suspension bushings was to look for a shiny area around the retaining plate. The width of the shiny ring shows how much movement there is. Ideally, there is no movement at all.
Thanks for the offers!!! I did not observe any shiny areas, but there is obvious wear and movement. Interestingly the bus still handles very well and does not wander. My consultant Chad said that he had replaced his bushings and they were in much better condition than mine. He also thinks that this is a dangerous condition. I will try to post a pic when time and conditions permit.
