I removed the non- working Espar from my '81 Prevost. Is it worth anything or should I take it to the scrap metal dealer?

Controls, etc might be worth something to someone looking for spares. Looks like a coolant heater, if it were an air type I'd be interested.
I'd try sticking it in the "spare tire" for best offer....you never know
Maybe - what is an Espar?
Might be worth a call to an Espar dealer. There's parts for those old girls that are no longer available so the salvage might be worth something to somebody.
Any chance to get it working? With the price of Aqua-Hots, Pro-Heats, and Webastos, you'd think that it would be worth a try.
My Webasto has had the status of "not working" several times. I just fix it.

As has my Proheat but there comes a time ............
When the cost of maintenance exceeds the depreciation cost on a new unit then its time to think seriously about doing a buoyancy test on the old one. I had a D7 Espar that was no longer supported - IOW the mfr had decided it was time for people to buy new units so they no longer sold parts for the old one. Fortunately I figured that out before I had helped more than one dealer get rid of old stock from his shelves. Ultimately the best fix for a furnace in a bus is a compass.

One needs the time and money to turn south though.
