Title: Bus Storage in Raleigh, North Carolina
Post by: Dave Siegel on March 30, 2012, 04:44:08 AM
My wife Jan is going up to Raleigh for a job interview in April. If she gets the job and we were to move there we will head to an apartment which is where our problem starts: where do we store our bus? Of course I checked the Help Assist List but since I don't know N.C. very well I don't know who to ask so I will pose the question here.
Does anyone know or have any ideas about storing a bus in Raleigh, N.C.

Any kind of suggestions will be welcomed. We are going up April 14-17th so we can check out your suggestions then.

Thanks in advance.

Dave,

There are a lot of places with property in and around the Raleigh area. It is pretty spread out and lots of farmland on the outskirts.  Don't know if you all are looking for a beautiful neighborhood with nice homes or if you are trying to be real close to your wifes work but one option might be to rent a small 2 bedroom with some property that you could park your bus on for just as cheap as an apartment.

Hey Dave,

I live in Raleigh..

there are tons of storage type places that have parking spots for rent around Raleigh that are usually blacktop..lots of class A rv's use these type of spaces..

most are owned by Public Storage now in Raleigh area..

also depending on what side of Raleigh you end up on there are a few RV rental places that will let you store your RV on there lots, or parking area, but most of those are dirt or gravel and not paved.

I will be out of town the weekend you are coming up but will be around Monday and Tuesday if you want to meet up for lunch or dinner to chat.. I do have to work :( but if you want to meet I can give ya lots of info on different sides of Raleigh and where to stay away from etc..

Wow guys, thanks for the quick info and the invite Ken. I am just now trying to put together our flight plans. It seems cheaper to fly up Friday night and return on Tuesday. If she gets the job we will probably look for an apartment close to where she will work. (Wake Tech Community College) We have no idea what that area is like so we will have to do a lot of running around I guess to check out the area. It would be great if we found an apartment with RV storage right there on site. I'll let you know more as this adventure progresses.
