Title: fuel filters..? 671
Post by: Gerry4104 on March 27, 2012, 05:02:27 PM
I got 3120 filters for my 4104 and i see in another post that 3120 is the secondary and 3018 is the primary? what is the difference betwqeen the 2...?

one of the filters is mounted on the rear firewall on the right facing the engine..i assume that is the primary..

and the other right there on the engine itself which i can read.. the secondary 3120..

guess the question is...can i use the 3120 in the primary position ?

TIA

The original primary filter on the firewall is a stacked disk reusable filter with a bolt head on top. These are easily cleaned with a good strong solvent such as spray carb cleaner but should be handled with care because they are very thin.

If it is a screw-on conversion then it all depends!! What p/n is on there now?

That filter was basically to rusty to read..and the #'s were facing the FW...i assumed they would be the same....but guess not..

And they are screw on conversions too...
