Anybody out there have a motorcycle lift on the front of there coach. I am driving a 5a.the bike weighs about 850.00
no. I was working on plans to build one on my 9, but my wife got into motorcycling and we bought an enclosed trailer, instead.
Adding the lift to the front posed some serious load issues, among other things.
I'm still thinking about it, but it's on hold for now.
on our MCI 102a3 we put our sporty on the front. I used 2x2 tubing that extends about 2' & 3'. I put a platform and have carried this cross country & have not had a problem. When the airbags are down, and I pull to the curb I don't even need a ramp to load or unload. Not sure what differences on your bus structure. On our eagle I put the platform on the back. Sold the heavy bike and bought the sporty to lighten the load. Sure is nice having it on the front. checking on the engine, adding oil required removing the bike, was a pain. On the front it becomes an expendable crush zone:)
Check and see if you have a tag on the axle with the weight limits. Weigh the front end. Check your tires for the load rating. Figure out how much the lift and bike will weigh. That should tell you if you are within the limits. As far as moving the center of gravity and how much the weight will affect your tire wear and handling, only time will tell. :)
Remember that you will also need to move the headlights, turn signals, side markers, and clearance lamps forward, in front of the motorcycle and rack, to be legal in most states. FWIW.

I have a FLSTC and it is about 750lbs. I have been pondering how I might carry it with us as well. I haven't looked at how well it would bolt up, but one consideration has been to install a Class 4 receiver hitch on the front of my 4106 and use a Joey Hauler. You could use a Ultra Heavy Duty Hauler #JH30. What I am not clear about is how well the bus structure would handle it.
