Welcome to the world of busing. Can't help you with the history. RJ or somebody can help you. Have fun with your bus.

Thanks for that.  Just getting started on the conversion. Lot of work. but should be worth it in the end.

Again, thanks.

Hi -

Congrats; I believe I found its initial owner here (no one outside of the bus world would even believe this site exists):

Take care,

Brad
Found the listing for the bus we just bought andwill try to trace records from that.
Bought this thing for $1000, put in new batteries, changed the fuel filters and drove it to my shop.
Hope the rest of the conversion goes as smooth as the beginning has been.
Definitely appreciate the help. Thanks for the reply.

Brad,

Welcome to this crazy bus world.  These guys have about a million years of bus knowledge.

We also like pictures.  So as soon as you can, post photos of your new baby.

What kind of shape are the tires in?  What is the date on them?

Enjoy,

Bill W

Brad,

Congratulations on getting your new toy home.

Not everyone's first ride is so uneventful... ;)

I also have a 4905, #1160, your older sibling.

Be happy to share anything I have learned about them here, via email or phone.

Oh Yeah, get the manuals....will save you lots of frustration..

Have Fun!

Cliff

Rockland Coaches.  Known in these parts as Red and Tan, a NY-NJ commuter operator.  At one time an all GM operator with great maintenance.

Brad -

Put this number into your smartphone, or commit it to the hard drive between your ears:

1-888-262-2434

That's the toll-free number for Luke @ US Coach in NJ.  Luke's probably forgotten more about GMCs that all the combined knowledge on the various bus bulletin boards combined.  Ships parts "same day" when you use plastic money to pay.  Strong supporter of the busnut community, support those who support us!

FWIW & HTH. . .

Well, as far as we can tell, it would appear that our new brat has had only two owners and we are the third.  Got the seats and interior stripped & working on starting on plumbing & electrical.  Also, controls and bus wiring.  Yipes, what a nightmare.  Definitely had it right about the manuals, though.

Wanted to thank everyone for the answers and well wishing .  This is our first venture into the bus world and we are definitely a little nervous about the whole deal.  Hope to have enough done by June to use it as a (believe the  term was) tin tent.  Have become a regular reader of the forum and found lots of ideas and info. Again, thank you all.
