I talked to the Jake factory and the young people who tried to help me didn't know. Detroit DID make upright and pancake versions of this "forgotten" DD, FWIW. Thanks in advance. HB of CJ (old coot) :)
I never knew the 6-110 was used for anything but for industrial use never saw in any other application so why Jakes ? parts are still fairly easy to buy for the 6-110 from WW Williams the owner of all the 6-110 patents since 1967,fwiw BNSF here has a couple in yard switching locomotives that is one large engine for 275 hp also it is a 1800 rpm engine
good luck
The 6-110 was used in some trucks in the 50's also used on generators they had two versions, one had the roots blower the other had the centrifugal style blower. I think I still have some timing pins for some version.

While it sounds good on paper, the 6-110 in truck version put out 325hp @ 2000rpm. It is a VERY heavy engine-not made for use in over the road trucks/buses. They were used in off road logging and mining trucks and equipment. Even though the 6-110 used the same bridges and rocker arms as the 71 series, I don't believe a Jake was ever made. The 6-110 was brought out in the 50's before the V engines were available. It puts out about the same power as a 8V-71 non turbo. If you want that kind of power, the 6V-92TA weighs about half of what a 6-110 weighs and puts out much more power with much better fuel efficiency. Good Luck, TomC
The 6-110 was originally built for GM's construction equipment division Euclid and was also used in Allis Chalmbers crawler tractors fwiw
I have a very low time inline 671TA with 300HP for sale !
