Title: What type of disconect switch
Post by: goutoe on March 13, 2012, 07:58:34 AM
I would like to install a disconnect on my start up batteries 12 volt system on my AM general 6v92 what type or brand would You guys recommend? I installed a blade type on the coach batteries which works great but I don't think that would be heavy enough to handle starting amps. Thanks John.

It is hard to beat the Cat switch listed.

I use the cheap green knob cutoffs from WM. They are not the most rugged but are the cheapest and most available.

I probably have 20 of them in use now including the buses and have had only one fail in 20 years.

I use one on each battery so that cuts down on the starting current load.
