Title: stuctural question on a 4107 for insolation
Post by: la chiva on March 10, 2012, 05:31:19 AM

Hey Guys
a trick question? i'm stripping down my 4107 conversion that was done by the amish
about 20 years ago still with the bus original insulation i'm down to the structure but
the middle section of the wall where the windows are is also cover with sheet metal
a guess for strength in the sructure it is actually spot welded to the outer skin of the bus around the window how do i remove it to insulate with sprayfoam or do i remove it???

I don't think it will hurt any thing. I would take my time and not get too much in it .  do it slow so it can expand as you fill it.

I doubt its spot welded, more likely rivets. The inner metal adds to Buses structural rigidity, for lack of a better description, its the Buses frame. I would just leave it alone.
