Title: need help with dirty glass...
Post by: uemjg on February 21, 2012, 11:06:25 AM
My MCI8 has windows that look like they have large water spots or white haze on the outside.

Are these cleanable?  with what?  Can they be micro-polished?

It would have laminated glass in all windows, even the single pane ones.  Are you sure you aren't seeing delamination?  Other than that, alcohol based cleaning solutions I would think.  If you think it's a stain of some sort, maybe acetone.

I had stains on a rear window of a car and was told by a detail shop it was from water from My yard sprinklers!  I thought They were nuts but found out that it was iron stains from well water.  I buffed the glass with the same polish I used on plastic aircraft windows.  Not a easy task!  John L

Sounds like double pane glass and the stains are actually on the inside. More than likely you're going to have to have a window shop split the planes above and clean the insides and reseal the panes
