Title: Powergear Levelling Jacks and Kwikee electric steps
Post by: Aussiecoach on January 14, 2012, 03:47:06 PM
Hi

Can anyone advise me of where I can buy a Large Aclass Powergear automatic levelling system (complete Kit for bus conversion with Tag axle) and kwikee electric steps? I have some container space leaving from CA soon and would like to add some of these goodies to my haul.

I've been googling and haven't found anyone that appears to sell to the public, let alone an Aussie.

Thanx
Glen

There are of course new manufacturers that you can get them from but if you want to buy from an RV salvage place to get good used, I have bought a ton of stuff for my conversion from Colaw RV 1-417-548-2128. They do have a website but it isn't very interactive, best to call them. The person I usually deal with is Duane, will negiotate some but don't expect more than about 15-20% depending on volume of purchase. HTH

Thanx Rob

Initially I'd rather buy new, that is until I see the prices.

Sorry should have mentioned that

I've read that Powergear doesn't really want to deal with end users.  They primarily sell to RV manufacturers.  You might get an RV dealer to order for you.

The RVA leveling system is easier to buy and about the unit and price, Big Foot and HWH are better HWH being the best and the price reflects it too lol

good luck

Hi luvrbus
The RVA system looks interesting, makes sense it is easier to level, but I'm not so sure they would be as stable as a four jack system.

The HWH system doesn't seem to have a kit listed just all the individual bits, which makes it hard for the novice.

But I still cannot find anywhere to purchase with mr Googles assistance, so again any ideas would be appreciated.

Thanx
Glen

Hi Glen
HWH, like power gear does not like to deal with individuals so buying them, you will have to order through a dealer. I have a Prevost and am using a Big Foot system I purchased direct from the factory in Michigan. I chose it over the HWH becasue of the large foot pads and the fact that HWH, though I have used them many times on stick and staple RVs, cannot be bought except through a dealer.
I do know, if you are dead set on going with power gear, that Colaw RV mentioned before, has many used jacks, pumps etc. They also have some HWH jacks, pumps, etc. Whether they have a full system or one large enough for a bus conversion, you would have to determine from talking/emailing them.

Glen. 3 point puts less stress on frame than four.  two in back will give you left right  front will give you up and down.  with four you could twist frame---like right front & left rear off ground.  Don't know what type coach you have but have saw windows popped out of S&S with 4 corner leveling system.   FWIW  My 98 XLE  Prevost  is 3 point     Bob

I level huggy with the air bags and then put the feet down to steady the coach.
I always drop down a low as I can so momma can get in. She has short legs.

But with four i can jack up one wheel to change tire or do maintenance.

I always keep the body level and let the suspension take care of the uneveness.
