If anyone has info on this, would appreciate help with this. We have an issue with the air door on the bus. When it is closed, it doesnt leak air. When it is opened up, it sits there and leaks the whole time. We have taken them all apart and cleaned them, and done everything we know to do. Rubber washers in them that seal look fine. The one that leaks, is the one that actually works the actuator that works the door. Looking for a place that we might buy one, new or used. Called Karl in Ill. and not much luck there. He didnt think he had one. We are leaving to go out for work this yr, and that door is going to be a pain. Would love to come up with a plan to replace the air door, with one that just opens and closes. Thanks
Ruthi,
Try MCI Technical Support 800-241-2947. They can help you with fixing the existing door. They will help diagnose the problem and tell you what the availability of rebuild kits or new parts & costs are.
Make sure to have your coach VIN when calling them. (usually they only need the last 4,5,or 6 digits)

Thanks Bryce. We have already called them, weren't very helpful, or willing to help much. They said they couldn't find a cross reference. The guy in Ill. did come up with one, and he is shipping it to us. Meanwhile, we found another company in Michigan, and I talked to them, and they said to try and wiggle the door when it opens. So, we tried that, and it worked. So, for now, we will just live with that as we leave to work tomorrow. When we get some extra time, we will try and fix it. Thank you so much for your help!
Ruthi,
If you able to remove the cylinder and take it to an experienced shop that repairs and sells air / hydraulic cylinders they may be able to repair or find a replacement for it. Here in Nashville Sloan fluid would one choice, there should be a similar business near you. If not you could call Sloan Fluid, describe what you have and see what they think the chances are of repairing or replacing what you have. 615 399 7700

Is there an air supply shut off for the door system on that coach?
In the interim, how easily does the door open and close by hand when parked, if the door air supply is shut off?
Air doors for a busnut take up some maintenance time to be sure!
happy coaching!

I believe Ruthi is having troubles with the air motor leaking. There are no pneumatic cylinders unless her Dina is radically different than mine. I believe MCI sells, or did sell, a rebuild kit for the air motor. MCI Tech support doesn't know much about Dinas and sometimes they give totally wrong answers based on MCI buses. They said the brake light switch is right up near the pedal when in fact they are under the bus about 10 feet back.
I replaced my Dina entrance door with a 28" motorhome door with frame from Ron the Busnut. He may still have some brand new ones at his place. I had to weld in some steel to frame in for the new door. I also had to skin around the door. The door won't look too bad once painted.
