I'm traveling to Arizona and one of the air bags on my tag is leaking (badly). It's not a huge crisis as I can drive with the tag up but I would like to fix it while I'm parked at the campground, Orange Grove RV Park. The bag is a Goodyear and the number on it is 566-24-3-024 and the bus is a 1972 Prevost. The local truck repair, Jerry and Keith's truck repair, don't show a listing for that number, does someone have a cross number or know what one will fit? Is there a better place to get one? Hope to some of you in Indio and Quartzite. Fraser

Why not just call Prevost Parts directly?
They've got a service center in the Los Angeles area, you could simply drive by and pick it up. Here's the contact info:
Prevost Parts & Service Center
3384 De Forest Circle
Mira Loma, California 91752
United States
Phone: 1-800-421-9958
Fax: 1-951-360-2560
Better than re-inventing the wheel?
FWIW & HTH. . .

You got it, I'll give them a call first thing in the morning and pick one up on the way to Indio. I didn't realize they had a center in the LA area. That's why this board is so important to us all. Thanks for the help.
I called Prevost and they were a lot of help, but didn't have one. I'm waiting for a call back from the truck parts supplier. Everything will work out.
Be sure that you get a fresh fine thread nut when you get the new bag.
Often hard to find in the local hardware store, and you don't need a box of them.
happy coaching!

Is the bag leaking where it meets the bottom plate? I had a similar situation on my MC-7 a couple of times, on the same air bag position.
We tried 2 different new bags, and found the ring that clamps the bag to the plate was distorted....new from supplier, but defective ( imagine that...)
We ended up ordering a ring only, and that cured the problem for only a short while. The new bag/ring combination started leaking again, at the bottom plate again.
We ended up ( now putting on my flame-proof underwear ) squirting some green tire slime sealant into the bag through the gap at the bottom, then bolting it up tight. Reasoning that it will lay in the bottom of the bag, and not plug the air supply line to the bag, it seemed to be a logical solution.
So far so good, it doesnt leak anymore.
See you in Indio.

You couldn't have had a problem in a better spot, just give Don Fairchild a call - he is the bus man!!
From what I understand, it would be good to change all the bolts. They are different if your airbag is plated or not. Luke would have what you need, but you may not want to weight for it to come from NJ if you don't have to.
I have a definite hole I can hold my finger on it, looks like maybe something sharp flew up and punctured it. I phoned Don but he is out and will call back after dinner.

Mohawk Mfg sells air bags for all coaches. I checked the price, half of what I paid for from MCI. They have Firestone Goodyear. Here is their web site.

For some reason Prevost usually has best price on air bags and includes shipping. Shop prices though not true for all parts from them. The high volume parts they are tuff to beat. Bob
