Title: Project bus-potential?
Post by: grantgoold on January 05, 2012, 03:53:17 AM
Found this project bus that someone might consider. Sure you could pick it up for cheap?

The damage must be worse than it looks if the repair cost is really $70,000.  I noticed that most of the belts on the engine are missing.

My thoughts exactly.  I would want to personally inspect the damage (and take a competent bus mechanic with me) before I bid on that bus.  Things that "don't add up" usually don't add up.

Assume the engine a total loss, add replacement labor, allow about 30% more extra. Add shipping costs (either bus your way or parts towards the bus). Subs-tract this amount from a similar one in reasonable condition and you MAY have an idea of how much to bid. Don't get too surprised if it sells at less than scrap value.
