Title: Arcadia Rally
Post by: gene lewis on December 30, 2011, 05:51:14 PM
Have been enjoying the LiveSream broadcast today.  For those of us who could not make it -- It sure would be nice to get an update like what type coaches R in attendance and how many.

Will a trip around the lot be available showing off the coaches?

To Ian and buswarrier -- I think U have done a fine job -- I 4 one really appreciate all your efforts.

i'm here and there's close to 100 coaches of all flavors.  Most of the really great ones are Eagles, but then i'm prejudiced since i have one :-).

i would suggest you post this on the other board, using their diesel chat, instead of here.

i doubt Ian, who arrived today, spends a lot of time on this board instead of his own.

See the photobucket slide show of all the coaches in attendance at the time of the walk around.

On a technical note about the streaming video...

A high powered WiFi antennae booster thing was mounted up a light standard over near the big arena, tied into some wire.

Unfortunately, as hard as I poked him in the backside with an extension pole, Tom would not shinny any higher up the light standard.

The good news, a signal for live broadcast could be had over a much larger area than last year, but...

The long row of coaches on the other side of the fence in the full hook-up area were problematic for consistent reception and transmission. The coaches themselves were doing a fine job of blocking the signal.

Have no fear, with even more fancy WiFi equipment, a small donkey, an aerial truck, a large tripod with a tall pole, 4 or 5 Sherpa guides to move it around, and a bit of CA$H to acquire and keep it all happy...

I am just the freelance busnut foolish enough to help do this for others.

Oh, and petition those in charge to get me a camera with the steady cam feature...

happy coaching!

Working on weeding through them, looking for the wheat, discarding the chaff...

And writing a variety of blackmail letters.

I hadn't got around to sending you yours yet.
