Few things I would like to know first is any sources other than Prevo Parts on this and who are they.
It is manufactured by long radiator. Already googled that got nothing good.
Prevo gets 1900 for a core and 2850 with the 2 tanks. Don't need the tanks.
Prevo shows 10 hr for that job on a XL (if anyone ever goes that route)
Has anybody ever separated the tanks from the core I have not done that before. Is there anything I need to be aware of or is it as simple as it looks.
Prevo does not stock the cores just the entire thing and it made me wonder if they have reasons other than the obvious for doing that ???

10 hours sounds about right, start to finish. nothing you cant handle, just lots of nuts and bolts.
it's pretty heavy, I used a floor jack to raise it into position.

I noticed on my last outing, my coach is running slightly hotter than before, 205 on climbing hills near Branson. Not extreme but hotter than usual. My question, have either of you used the cleaner solutions available from DD before making the committment to move to new cores? If so, were the results nil, good, great, etc? Did either of you consider taking the radiator to a radiator shop to tank dip the core before going with the new cores? If so, what stopped you from going that route?

my fins were so rotten, you could rake them off with your fingers. once the tanks were off, the lime deposits restricted at least one third of the tubes.

Joe, I rebuilt my radiator this summer. I took both tanks off and ordered the tank gaskets from Prevost. I took the core into one our last radiator shops to have the core tanked and rodded. The guys in the shop told me that I would have my hands full with the assy. Here are a few tips.
Take pictures and then take more pictures of the radiator. The cross bracing must be installed correctly. I had my son draw a few sketches as to the bolt orientation with the cross braces.
I used the neoprene factory gaskets. I assembed the tanks and torqued all the new stainless bolts and nuts. I came back after lunch to have the gaskets push out. What a PITA!! I called the radiator shop and they told me that I would be calling again. I took the radiator up to the shop (1 hr drive one way) They charged me $100 to assemble with there cork gaskets. The factory ones are assembled under vaccuum. They told me to look at the original pictures, even the factory assy had gaskets being pushed. BTW, the cork strip gaskets are just run around the perimeter, they use a die grinder and bit to punch all the new holes. From memory I think I went thru 120 bolts...
I read the ID tag, and I'm pretty sure that the core was made in Montreal.

Core fins are completly deteriorated around the perimiter.
