You have choices. Quit, wait and see, complain and no one really cares or take on the magazine your self and see how much work it really is. Did a club news letter once. Complaints on size and quality and they didn't like the $20 yearly fee. When asked to contribute materials they were too busy. I would never do it again.  ;D ;D ;D

Total agree.  Case here is I have paid for several years in advance and am already more than 6 months behind. Ask for simple yes or no.  Will except it either way.    Yes       no        ... been screwed out of allot more for no good reason. $$ not issue here just intent.        Bob

Steve the magazine is a different animal than a "club news letter" and many of us have ponied up for at least 1 yr if not 2 yrs "home delivery" subscriptions.
I honestly don't think Bob (or anyone else for that matter) is ouyya line asking for a straight answer!

I think he just has to keep on asking.  Though he shouldn't have too.

He's a customer, one who has paid in advance, he deserves better, much better.

And when you have the 'bully pulpit" of this forum, not responding is extremely hard to understand.

Yep Bob is asking a simple question and has been asking the question for months now.

Me I have doubts about the future of this board and I have no idea how Mike is going to pull this one off I have noticed the name change

I hope you guys do get the back money for your subscription or future magazines but for me the magazine has lost all creditability it had, no one in their right mind is going to renew a subscription me for sure lol

You received the June issue in Nov electronically now 3 months later you will receive another issue so they say some one just needs to shoot straight or close the barn door

Was just getting a little aggravated: Everyone deserves the respect of a answer.  Must be a differant society on the west coast.   The days of a handshake and a man's word are fast becoming history. Still intact to a large part here but fading.        Bob        Last time I will ask:::::will spare anyone else the annoyance.

All I know is that looking back, I was curious and interested in a bus magazine though a number of people warned against paying the money. Seems there was some incident or three where the magazine was flaky and people lost money? Well, I got my hands on an old copy and liked it so I subscribed and guess what? I liked it for the most part.
Well, flash forward to current times. I lost money, faith and respect in the magazine that I got not one issue for my money on and it's highly doubtful that I'd give it another shot. Too much silence, too many valid questions ignored. Not even a post giving accounting in light of the changing of the guard. Not the way that I do business and certainly not what I pay good money to get.  >:(

Bad taste in my mouth all around and also monitoring other feeds (forums) in case this finishes off the direction it seems to be going now though I'd like to be proven wrong.

I agree the magazine has big problems and it is not only in the printing of it. For 4 months I have sent emails and posted on this board about the monthly magazine I was not getting. Last time I sent one to Mike. Do you think I ever got an answer. Hell no! I have been a member for almost twenty years and paid for 2 years last time. Ask me if I am going to renew..Hell no!  I do think who is ever running this magazine now should extend the subscription for magazines not received. I sure don't expect to get any money paid back............

Looks like there is more work being done on a new web site than the mag. From what I've seen it's moving to a web mag insted of print. That's not what I payed for.

I got this for Ted (I'm his wife) and paid in advance. I did not extend this year. Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me. I hope it gets straightened out because he really enjoyed the magazine and I approved of this "centerfold".

Once I had to start asking for reasons as to why the magazine was late I had an uneasy feeling about it.  Each one of the subscribers deserves an answer even if it is bad news. I don't think it is unreasonable to get an answer to why goods that have been paid for are not going to be delivered. The customer should not have to ask.The vendor should have the decency to let people know that there is a problem. After the second time of not getting a magazine I requested a refund and Mike sent me a check.

Everyone has their own perspective. One thing some of you guys may consider is the impact BCM's disposition may be having on the folks that have been working hard to keep it going. The magazine has been around for a long time. It has had it's ups and downs, but I think most folks that subscribed to it has benefited from the knowledge through the years.

If the magazine disappears today the money I will lose on the subsciption is nothing to the knowledge I will miss because it no longer exist. It has been an icon for our hobby. The folks that have worked hard to keep it going deserve better than some of the comments I have read on here.

You've got no idea of the history involved prior to the renaissance.

The issue is with management, not the contributors or the subscribers.

These people are being polite.

The present is the past? Rehashing it serves little purpose at this point.

Sticking to the present facts, we have had no magazine for many months, promises were made for a February issue which is now long overdue, and we have a deafening silence from the individual responsible.

We, the many, have paid for a product that has not been delivered.

Not to mention the subscriptions that continue to be taken in. The machinery is still active to take the unsuspecting soul's money.

Benefit of the doubt has run out.

Just like before.

Guys,
You are absolutely right in what you say.  BCM magazine should have stepped up to the plate, admit the failure, and beg forgiveness; even if it was impossible to give back what was taken.  However, they haven't and probably won't.  I've lost money on subscriptions also.

However, we need to move on and allow the owner of BCM to move on.  We don't have the option to "tar and feather" the person or persons involved.  Besides, I expect, if we fully understood either the financial position or the emotional position most of us would be far more patient and respectful.  Nobody likes to be on the loosing end.  Nobody likes to loose money.  But we all have elected officials at every level who have taken much more from us, and have taken it by deceit and force.  I don't believe BCM has been deceitful with me.

I, for one, am willing to let it go.  I feel badly for the owner of BCM and wish I could do something to help.  I would like to see him take down the subscription portion of his website, but for all I know it is disabled anyway.  I'd like to see him post and just apologize, even if he can't make amends.  But, we're all wired different.  For some, the emotions that come with this, and reading the words on this post, would make a person retreat.  You might not - you might stand up and take it, or you might think you would.  But, not everyone is like that.

I'm sorry to see the magazine go away.  If the owner (Mike?  Mac?) whoever you are, would like to make the history of the magazine available - I'm willing to make that happen.  But, I need communication from you.

Thank you for all the great years of the Magazine.  Thank you for all the effort.  I'm sorry to see it go.
Good luck in whatever the future brings you.

Dave

All -

We've forgotten another group who are probably quite frustrated with BCM also:

That being those vendors who have paid for display advertising and gotten nothing.

Their wallets are considerably emptier than we subscribers (since they actually pay the majority of the costs), and the possibility of additional revenue from them now has vanished faster than you can say "credit card chargeback!"

Sad, but the printed publishing world is suffering all over, regardless of venue.

It's a rapidly changing world we live in!

FWIW & HTH. . .

Magazine or not, I wouldnt want this forum to go away. I dont know the issues with the magazine, I havnt paid any real attention. But I havnt paid for one either, so I can imagine some peoples anger.

Perhaps the owner needs some help?

That is too bad - no communication.. but unfortunately, some are too ill or immature to communicate after a problem exists... In either case, some counseling might be beneficial.

I've attempted to call to offer help, but the phone won't accept a message.
I've sent an email, but no reply.

There are those of us, and I know I'm not the only one, who are able, available, and willing to set BCM back on its feet.... or find some kind of solution.

I wish I could be some kind of help, but.....
