Clifford have you checked your settings in your profile on this board? there are settings to turn the notifications on or off, and email notifications too. Might be your problem there. I have mine set to pop up a window when I log in, and sends me an email when I get a PM. Always works for me. You might give it a look.

Can't say that I blame you Clifford. I get sick of microtrash myself. I have a dual boot system with linux installed and use that quite often. I just keep the wintrash because of a few software that can't run on the linux.

There is an application that allows you to run MicroTrash applications in Linux:
http://www.winehq.org/ (http://www.winehq.org/)
Your mileage may vary, but works for me.

I tried several version of wine, and none of them would run my 64 bit autocad software. At least not smoothly. That software is a memory hog to begin with, and running it in wine inside a linux os was just not acceptable.

I thought you were supposed to drink wine, not pour it on/in your computer.

If you're running Windows under Wine, you at least have something to throw it out of.  :P

I run VirtualBox for big Windows apps that I really need to run under linux. It works great, but then again, I have 8G of RAM, so that may help. I have a couple of "mini-apps" that I run under Wine, but I've never had success with Wine and big stuff like AutoCad.
