Title: 8v92 cams?
Post by: robertglines1 on December 16, 2011, 03:28:49 PM
Are they different grind from a ddec engine and a mechanical engine? Had a friend call this afternoon and ask. I really did not know for sure.  Also he said the engine was a 1999.  Did they build them that long?    Engine came out of 91 prevost/ original unknown.  Bob

The cams are the same for the DDEC I as the MUI and into the DDDEC II engines for a short time. Then they change specific to DDEC engines only
The expert on this would be Don Fairchild.
We will see if he chimes in.

The 8v92 was around in 1999 it was a DDEC IV like Larry said the DDEC 1 uses the same cams as a mechanical a few of the early DDEC 11 used the same after that no, a 91 model would be a DDEC 111

Funny DDEC and Don Fairchild I just got of the phone with him he was looking for DDEC 8v92 block lol

good luck
