Title: 2000 Blazer 4wd--towable?
Post by: thejumpsuitman on December 10, 2011, 06:31:29 AM
Still trying to put together a deal on the Wanderlodge.  The latest offer is for a 2000 S-10 Blazer 4x4.  Does anybody know if it is towable 4 down?  Remco says if it has the Np-236 transfer case it is, but how can you tell?

Thanks,
Marc

Typically if the transfer case has a neutral position, then you're good to go. Good Luck, TomC

this will be a push button electronic transfer case shift. If it is towable there will be a neutral position indicated on the shift panel by pressing two buttons simultaniously. (2 high and 4 low i think, but don't quote me on that) if there is no neutral indication on the shift panel then it is not 4 wheel down towable.

Did you check the owner's manual?

My brother has one that he towed 4 down to Needles.  His does have the transfer case with the neutral position.   We had a heck of a time getting it into  neutral.  The manual is wrong on which buttons to push.   Try it from the book, if that does not work, try the opposite of what the book says.  jm
