Go to prevost car home page: go to tech pub: put in XL45me   in year put in 98  if you want wiring diagram set D060873 select this set     Other  publications manuals free for printing there.  Enjoy!  You might have to put in 2000 for model year for maintenance manual to get system to work   Operators manuals available as well.  I print hard copies and put in bus.   Bob

Congrats on the new Prevost.

My suggestion is to call Prevost parts and purchase a Drivers/operator manual.   I think that its around 95 pages..  Of GREAT info.   $40??

The next recommendation is to purchase the maintenance manual for your bus.   The guys in parts will ask you for the VIN number.   It's around $150   You will have all the FACTORY manuals from Brey Krause brakes, to Spicer component, and Meritor ABS components.   It's a good manual.

The Drivers manual is a MUST..

No need to buy anything, the Prevost site has all manuals, diagrams etc. on line.

Start here......http://prevostparts.volvo.com/technicalpublications/en/wiring.asp (http://prevostparts.volvo.com/technicalpublications/en/wiring.asp)

Understand a couple of things. The Prevost information while highly detailed will not help you a bit when it comes to the house so you have to get in touch with the converter to get information and help. Or you can learn the hard way like a lot of us have by studying the systems.

I am sure to get flamed for this, but while the coach can easily roll down the road at the speeds you mention, consider your safety and the safety of others. You cannot stop so your excess speed has a profound effect on how long it takes to get the coach slowed down or stopped. Second, if something other than another driver or a sudden curve or road debris happens, such as a blowout you and perhaps others around you are in a world of hurt.

prevost site unit#     from your serial #    starting with the W 102____     Example mine is W1026553     you would enter only Unit#    W-6553.  I found this confusing when I first used site.  Bob

Prevost recognizes the serial number as being the 9th letter or digit from the right as the model year followed by the last 4 digits. My coach is T5811 which is a 96 chassis, but it was registered as a 1997 after conversion.

To get accurate information you have to specify the serial number, the PREVOST model year, and the type shell making sure you denote whether the coach started life as a seated coach or as a conversion shell. When Bob seeks information he has to specify if his was a seated coach or entertainer conversion, and I have to specify mine was a motorhome conversion. That distinction is important because it affect all electrical and pneumatic diagrams as well as parts lists.

Werent you the same member that had the roof a/c thermostat question?

I ment to mention those thermostats although they are controling air conditioners that are a/c powered require d/c power to work.

If you do not have d/c power going to dueotherm thermostats your roof airs will not ever go on.

Sorry for the thread creep

Switch next to the bay locks should be for the cockpit ceiling lights.

Air horns are opporated by the horn button on the steering wheel.

The leveling option is a 4 position switch with a large black plastic pointer combined with a 3way intermittent rocker switch located at your left elbow while sitting in the drivers seat. If in leveling mode you will get a red levellow warning light on the dash.

The large floor grate is the air return for the over the road a/c off the bus engine.

I believe I had a recent relevent comment about new owners like yourself in another thread.

Thanks Joe,, What was your comment about new owners???   Horn works but not the air horns...  the switch next to the wall by the bay locks???  the one to the driver operates the 2 lights as you enter the bus...?

There is going to be another dash switch for the horns 1 way you get electric the other you get air, both off that steering wheel .

The cockpit ceiling lights are on a 3 way switch 1 is located at the dash the other is the switch on the dash at the door next to the bay lock switch.

I eluded to the fact that there are many many folks who get into these Prevo conversions that do not entirly understand the complexities of the conversions untill long after buying them. It was in the isolating batteries thread.
