I just finished changing bearings, seals and rotor seal rings in blower. As my engine idled rough and as governor is already off, I changed all Governor bearings, carrier, and pins with brass bushings in weight assem. With repaired unit still on bench, I checked Governor gap with wedge tool. I used wedge and set gap on one set of weights at .007--I removed tool and rotated 180 degree to other set of weights and installed wedge again. The Governor gap is now reading.024 (I made no adjustments). Is it normall to have this much difference in readings (.017) between weights when setting governor gap?? I have two different guidelines on how to set gap (both from Detroit) one says to set gap at .002 and other says at .008 Which setting should I be using?? I also marked weights and weight carrier before changing pins and brass bushing so not to mix up. All guidance will be greatfully received Larry
