A few minutes ago I tried to check posts on the board and everything was forwarded to Mike's new Go-Bussing site on Ning, then a few minutes later it was back to normal.
Is this a harbinger of things to come?
For those of you who are friends, or just like to talk busses, I'm going to set up another (sigh) forum. IF you are interested, PM me or email me to GHTrucking _ at _ msn.com (remove the lines and spaces replace them with @).
I really hate to lose friends here, even the ones I don't get along with that well.
It's too bad the PTB's have decided to ignore good advice they have received about changing out what they have. My personal opinion is that the magazine and the forum is rapidly going down hill since the leadership was jerked away from the last magazine leader.
I hope this forum can survive.

Dallas, I think what may have happened was Phil set up a new menu bar button to give a link over to the new site about the time you are talking about. Perhaps something didn't quite go right and then got corrected.
MAK has posted before that the forum would not be moved over to Ning.
I hope our generous moderators will make a dupe off site backup copy of all the postings. Just in case. I recall not too many years ago when all of the postings vanished for some reason. Too much knowledge to get lost in a system glitch again. Thanks all.
So this site going away now too?? Oh well, i'll likely go back into lurk mode.
No, what I meant was that MAK has previously said that the forum is unchanged. For those that do go to the Ning site and click the forum, it is simply a link to here.

All I can think of is that maybe as Mike S. stated, when I added a button to the menu bar that there may have been a temporary glitch. Sorry about that!!
Board isn't changing afaik - and I would add that I was here with Mike K. a looong time ago with the original board. Mike K. supported the move to the new software that we now use, and he supported me in cleaning up all the hacks and spammers that were directed against the site. He supported our crew of top notch moderators. And he funded the move to GoDaddy and numerous server upgrades along the way. Most if not all of that was out of his pocket!!
He is working on trying to keep the board and magazine to be self-sustaining. I for one would welcome that (selfishly :-) ) as I want em both to be around for a long time. I got lots of bussin' to do and I need help from time to time for sure. :D So there may be a few surrounding changes. But all with an eye toward keeping the site active and interesting. Adding more features. Some may get chopped back if they are not popular of course. And there will be some trial and error. Hopefully will keep errors to a minimum.
And yes, backups occur regularly throughout the day. ;D

FWIW, even though I gave up bussing I still come here daily for the wisdom and to see what all of you are doing. My RV has changed to a HDT and Fiver, so I still smell like diesel when I come in from my shop. Just wanted to remind everyone that Escapees has a bus forum that while not as bus focused as this one it is a great site, free and there may even be other tips you can find there. My friends Sean and Louise are members there and I know a few more of you are also. Just wanted everyone to know. Russ (AKA NEO/Russ from the days I was struggling to convert my double decker).
