Title: roof airs
Post by: Busnut83 on November 21, 2011, 08:39:38 AM
I am working on a 98 prevost,,, it has 4 roof airs,,, my problem is only 2 have controls...
the coach has 2 wall thermostats but they must not be connected...  question- the roof air with no controls are the vents or are they air conditioners?

Hi Busnut83,

You may just have dometic penguins that are controlled by the dometic comfort control center t-stst..

If so, each t-stat [comfort control center] will control two roof units via the zone button on the bottom

of the t-stat. Push the zone button and either zone 1 or zone 2 will display set points.

Without more info, this is all I can offer.

Good Luck
Nick-

Agree with Nick but all the motorhome prevos would not be like that only entertainers.

ALSO

Are you sure the 2 thermostats you are looking at arent for the webasto or the aqua hot to control the 2 different cabin zones?

Who did the conversion

I can only asssume by that answer that it is probably an entertainer coach and you did not get any documentation on it.

Did you figure out the thermostats or not??

wall thermostats dont control any...  they are dometic pinguins... one controls the nearest one without any controls..  ..

They have to have d/c 12 volts to the thermostats or they will not work.

Are the displays blank or are they reading something. That will verify if they have d/c.

OK then that is actually good news it will be easy to fix there is a d/c fuse to them that is burnt.

I would guess the dc distribution panel is up above the driver over the drivers side window/door. Open up that compartment and look for a spade fuse that is blown it will most likely be a small one 8amp or so. Usually they have things marked pretty well if you have what I think you do.  If they are not marked go thru the fuses with a continuity tester till you find a bad one.

Are the tanks level sensors working or are they out too. I have seen them on common circuts with the thermos.

Once you get 12 volts to the thermostats your a/c's will begin to work. That is of course,  unless that the a/c circuts powering them are not on or functioning correctly either. But they probably are just make sure you have the a/c breakers for the air conditioners on.
