Post by: Seangie on November 18, 2011, 04:25:57 PM
Been thinking about going up to PA to take a looky at this bus here -

Does anyone here recognize the bus or know anything about it?

Thanks!

Unless you really want an Eagle you can buy other buses ready to go in this market for about the same money...... mine for one.

Tom,

Not necessarily looking for an Eagle but something mechanically sound with at least a 92 turbo, DDEC in good shape (fresh rebuild, not covered in oil).  Would prefer a 4 stroke but that might be a longer time looking.  I don't mind doing the interior, electrical, plumbing...etc.  Just not super excited about having to do any major engine overhauls.

We are going to need an unusual setup anyways as we have 4 kids and would like to eventually attempt full timing. Something that has all the mechanical and structural work up to date and just needs an interior might work well for us.  I spoke with Bernie and he had assured me the bus was in really good condition and well taken care of. I just figured it wouldn't hurt to see if anyone was familiar or has looked at this bus in the past.

Clifford,

Thanks- Good to know about the front Axle.  I'll ping Bernie again and see if I can get some serial numbers from him.  One of the draws for me to this bus was the lack of tags for easier turning - backing up and cheaper tolls :)

Hi Sean - I've seen the bus from the outside, I have a 102C3 owned by a drum corp I volunteer for serviced there twice a year.  Bernie said the interior was gutted like that when he got it.  He's a very good guy to deal with, very knowledgeable and can build absolutely anything in a bus,  I would recommend you reach out to him - (215) 679-8943 or bernhardbus@verizon.net.  If there is something you need me to do (run up there to take more pictures?), the bus is about 20 minutes from my house, and I'm sure Bernie wouldn't mind, I've spent enough money up there!
