I have 3 hatches Over the 8v71 for easy to work on it.....I am thinking using an AIRBED over that area.
I would make a s small frame around the bed BASE so it wont wander around the bus. but it would be easy to move to get at the engine........... WHATCHA Think ?..................... BTW 05 Eagle
They work good as long as the temperature stays the same miserable when it gets cold IMO
WE love ours, 2nd air bed 2nd coach. also have one at home. best ever,
;D I would say go for it! We have one of those overpriced Select Comfort beds, but both the wife and I are comfortable; me on my very squishy soft side and her on her stone tablet. For the first time in 26 years we are both comfortable.
---Take a guess in what small mobile bedroom the previous (nearly stone tablet) mattress is! :'( (until it mysteriously gets ruined??? or stolen????)

Wouldn't be without one. You have to (or should) let a little air out when you go over mountain passes. Clifford we have a heated mattress pad on ours, but we had that on our regular mattress. lol. I put a piano hinge on the headboard, with gas springs to hold it up. Good Bus'n Wilbur
We have one also. We have the over priced Sleep Number and we put a 2" memory foam on top of the air bags. We would rather sleep in the bus than the house.
Sleep number, boy if only we could find a dealer that actualy had a working demo, someday I suspect we will lol.
We, have a air mattress at home I don't know what brand it was pricey and it is not light or easy to handle the memory foam is heavy stuff she likes it I don't, I miss our Duxiana so I go to the other bedroom sometimes.
She wants one in the motor home so far I am winning the battle just a matter of time before I lose the war lol
good luck
We have air mattresses in the coach and at home. We both would not have any other kind of mattress. Both look like a regular mattress, but have an air bag inside with a layer on memory foam on top of the air bag. Both our mattresses have a single air bag. We have heated mattress pads on both beds. We found with 2 separate air bags, if one side is much firmer then athe other, laying in the midddle would cause you to "slide downhill" from the firm side to the soft side. Jack
We have the same bed setup in both the house and the bus. That way you are always "sleeping in your own bed". Having a different bed is like going to a motel room. It will take days to get used to it.

There are a number of other air bed manufacturers that are less expensive than Sleep Number. They are generally just as good. They just don't advertise as much as Sleep Number does. I have a very low end Sleep Number mattress at home, but I don't use the bus enough to put one there. I probably would buy some other brand air mattress if I had to buy another one just because of the cost.
There are more Sleep Number stores than I can count in my local area and as far as I know the beds in them are all in working condition. It might help that Select Comfort/Sleep Number is headquartered here. I don't know why Van is having problems finding a store with a working display.
Sleep Number also sells refurbished units, but they can't sell them in Minnesota due to laws against selling used mattresses. I assume the top cover one lays on is replaced.
We have a Sleep Number Queen in our coach and love it! On our last trip we noticed it would change firmness with elevation. Other than that, best sleep I've ever had, and my wife is happy! ;)

I had one in the RV once and ok but you need to watch going up in altitude with it set on firm as it could damage itself unless it has pressure releasethat will protct it. otherwise let the pressure out before you travel Jerry
Thanks ALL............. GOOD Info......... made my day......... Tanks
Take care, Ken.
Maybe I'll call you tomorrow.
