I know many don't venture into the Off Topics board because of some of the political and other controversial discussions. As a result of a member's suggestion and the moderating team discussing and supporting it, a new "sub-board" of the Off Topics board has been set up for all political and controversial topics. Such topics on the first two pages of the Off Topics board have been moved there.
So the main Off Topics board is now a more friendly place for posting/discussing more pleasant non-bus topics. For example, other hobbies, family, non-bus projects you're working on, all kinds of positive things you are doing or thinking about.
But unless you enjoy or are entertained by the controversial discussions, you are urged not to go into the new Politics/Controversial Topics board. And if you feel the urge to start an off-topic thread that is likely to be controversial, that is the place to do it. Starting now, if the moderators see such a thread started elsewhere on the forum it will get moved there.
With both eyes... ;D
LOL! OK good luck with that! But seriously it just might be the ticket!
Good thing I NEVER post anything that might be considered controversial! ;)
;D BK ;D
I will sleep better tonight knowing we are safe. With the rules in place no one will venture off course again. :D

So, is there any way to filter that new section out when I "Show unread posts since last visit."? I want to see new posts in all the boards, Bus Topics, Classified, OT, but I'd really prefer not to see anything in the new sub-board regarding politics, conspiracy, government, etc. Call me an ostrich, but I'm sick of it all.

Ask and you shall receive. We found a modification for the forum software that enables members to select a board(s) to ignore. Then that board will be invisible to you and will not appear in the unread posts lists. You can change your mind and unselect the board at any time.
To use it, click the profile button on the tool bar near the top of this page and then in the left menu click the "Ignore Boards Preferences" item, then on the resulting screen choose the board(s) you wish to ignore and click the "change profile" button.
Lol!Boy the Board is getting so large now we are gonna need a bus shuttle service to get us from one end to the other, or maybe a teleporter, Idunno! BK, are you up for the challenge? :D ;D

Spoke too soon. There appears to be a problem with the setting not "sticking" after clicking "Change Profile". We will look further into it tonight.
Always up for a challenge!
