Title: H-45 Marathon
Post by: luvrbus on October 31, 2011, 08:36:51 PM
Here you go guys I been trying to buy this bus first from the bank and I had a deal with the bank then these people  people came into the picture playing games so it pissed me off and I am not bidding any more so if you looking I don't know what kind of reserve the co has on probably my first offer to the bank.

So here you go http://www.crankyape.com (http://www.crankyape.com) look under Rv's at the Georgetown Tx location you may can get a buy if you want to deal with a auction co after a few calls I don't lol

good luck

The bid amount on the page  is $87,600, so that's either the current bid or the reserve.

I don't know for sure what reserve is the bank told me if it didn't bring more than my offer the bus was mine we will see on Wed

It was a good deal before Marathon and the auction co got involved the po was way under on this bus so he let it go and with his contract the way it was written the bank cannot sue him for the difference so he just walked away wasn't no repo co involved he clean it up drove to bank when the payment came due and handed over the keys so I was told by the banker

good luck

I saw that bus on a site that was listed for $219,000 out of Dallas Tx. I have bought several things off these guys when it was MRC Auctions. Easy to deal with. That is the current price as you see. When it gets closer to closing time that's when the fun starts. I bought a brand new, never used 2006 Alfa camper for 29,000 bucks in 2006, kept it 1 year, while we were building our house and sold it for 39,500 at PPl in Houston. Sometimes you can get a good deal off these guys.

I called my wife a little bit ago and asked if she wanted to upgrade on the 91 Prevost . She hung up on me.

A friend in Indy sold His 2000Marathon it was an XL and actually on a 99 chassis so it was an XLV.

Very very clean bus. Sold it for 199 and sold it fast. That was 2 yr ago.

I just met a fellow who found a 97 Vantara H3-45 with 22000 miles for a 115.

Those  are the only comprables I can give.

I think that would be a good buy at 150 if I had the doe and really liked it. I believe there is other comperable stuff out there to be had for even less

No but it won't get close to reserve they are asking if my source is right I had that bus bought twice for a 1**,*** who knows I may make a profit and never own the bus lol it's about 40 grand over the offers I made

If the reserve is way over the current bid and the sellers don't get their expectations more in line they may not sell it.

Bankers arent busers and they need some direction.

Question is what was the defalt amount 300,000, 400,000? Some such scenario could be the driving factor in an unrealistic reserve.  LOL

No comment on the window shade for the shower hu ::)

I've bought several things off these guys and they all were (reserve not met) and on a alfa camper in 2006 they were the middleman between me and the banker. They (MR/Crankyape) bugged me for 2 or 3 days trying to get me to pony up more money. I told them no. They called and said if you want it at the price you bid "okay". I bought. I have purchased a boat and gooseneck hauling trailer  and didn't hit the reserve on those either. It's been a couple years since i've bought anything off them but in today's economic situation they would go for anything.

FWIW they have a reserve of 225,000 that bus has been a weight around the banks neck for year now they have to sell it and write the loss off according to the banking law,the problem they have after talking to the banking officer they have no idea if the high bidder is legit or not but will find out today it has to be cash they don't want any paper on a rv they are out of that game  lol

good luck

Yeah Ciff, You have to secure all purchases with a credit card and I don't remember what they hit it with if you defaulted but it was a tidy sum.

Take Care,

Cliff that's the buyers premium. that's added on top of the bid price if you get the top bid. Seems like when I first started bidding on junk in 2005 (when it was mrc)  it was a couple thousand bucks if you defaulted. They told me that was to keep the lookers out. Those goofy people let me in anyway. I could be wrong but they check your cc to see if you can handle the charge.
