Since returning from Daytona and purchasing new led tail lights for my bike I've decided I'm on a mission to completely furnish my bus with led's. Since I have already did the whole rear engine cover with 17 bargman units I have been searching for a direct replacement led for the side markers. The 2 bulb incandescent oem markers are Grote 9217. Well after calling Grote they have me the led replacement number. It looks exactly the same as oem but with 8 diodes in the red and 10 diodes in the yellow. I found them priced at less than 10 bucks a piece and with 5 yellow and 1 red on each side, with shipping I will have less than $130.00 for both sides.
Next I will locate and replace the 5 red & the 5 yellow on the front and rear caps. I just completed the cargo trailer and it lit up like a Christmas tree.
One other thing I had to do was install a hd tail light convertor. I say hd because the ones found at Walmart our auto parts stores only have about a 2 amp capacity. The one I got made by valley is a 10 amp per circuit and it worked flawlessly.
There ain't nothing like going thru down town Orlando at rush hour when the white collars get off work without trailer lights working. No worries now!
One of the best mods that I have completed was changing over to LED fixtures. I have completed the rear STTs and front turns. Also replaced the front and rear identification lights but havent located a suitable replacement (Similar style) for the clearance lights. The lights are bright and look sharp at night. It makes an old bus happy again....I think

After removing one of the clearance lights to see why Grote didn't offer an led replacement in red and only amber, I found that it wasn't a Grote light afterall ! It is a trucklite brand and with that I was able to find both red and amber replacements. These were not as cheap as the larger side grote marker lights but at 17.78 each and a couple hundred dollars for both the front five and rear five, I figure its a one time buy and not that bad afterall!
My goal is to have the bus and trailer completely done in led's before the Arcadia rally!
What's the difference in the lights on a H-41 and the H-40 I have a complete new set for a H-41 from Prevost but I don't want to break the set (2005) model
good luck
Probably nothing at all and not sure they came standard in the newer years with leds.
