For my 52 4103, hose to radiator attaches to it, mine is pitted and has a chunk missing where the hose to the radiator attaches. It looks the same as the one pictured on page 121 in my 4104 X-5818 Maintenance Manual. Is different than the one in my Detroit Diesel In-Line 71 Service Manual.
My local parts people are giving me "the look" :) Any one had luck getting one at a parts store? Hoping I don't have to find a used one.
Also if anyone has the engine thermostat and the by-pass thermostat part numbers would love to just walk in and give the part numbers to the counter guy.
Thanks in advance!
Rick

Pretty sure the thermos are hard to source (especially the by pass) but Luke at US coach has them. If you do find them elsewhere let us know. Re the other bit, not sure I understood your description....maybe a pic, close up and one in the context of the engine rad assembly. Cheers.
Ted Campbell at Coach Maintenance in Williams, CA will probably have one. You will have to contact him by email, he rarely answers the phone except late at night. He works graveyard, always has since his days at Eastshore Lines.
Rick, I'll be happy to sell you the parts you need... firm price of $5K. Cash up front.
Of course they will be packaged in a complete 1952 PD 4103, LOL.

Dallas,
That would probably be the smartest and quickest solution to all my present 4103 issues.

One more possibility Jefferson in Oklahoma City.
After getting the housing off and looking at it I cut the old tube off with a bandsaw, and then milled the surface flat on my 1940's Gorton Milling Machine. Tig welded a new tube on, even turned the new tube to get the raised lip on the end. Works great. Thanks to all that responded.
