Mmmm! That's a beauty!!!
Kevin
Yes, I know that one! It is my old PD4104.
I sold it to The Cherryholmes Bluegrass band in 2001. They toured in it for several years and then sold it to the owner of Beanblossom Festival in Indiana.
When Jerri Cherryhomes phoned me and said he was going to sell her, Jerri assured me it was going into good hands - it sure did! She's a beauty; always was.
Here is the website of the bus when we had her: http://usbusin.blogspot.com/ (http://usbusin.blogspot.com/)
That paint job by the way is nearly 30 years old. Not too shabby.
Gary looks as though it's been sold since the Beanblossom guy. Those is TN tags on it!
;D BK ;D
Gary,
Is the anodized siding on the bus painted? Looks great, getting ready to paint the top of my 4104, the guy who is going to spray it suggested silver, I was thinking white with a red strip along the bottom edge but after seeing this bus I may rethink the silver top. I like it..
Rick
It is a beauty. The paint is 30 years old? :o. It looks great.
Rick,
The band above the bay doors is painted silver as is the roof. The bay doors are anodized. I understand that the owner after the Cherryholmes replaced some of the anodized doors. To what extent I don't know, but Jerri Cherryholmes said it was beautiful.
I am so happy to see the old girl in such fine shape. We had a wonderful 16 years and over 150,000 trouble free miles in her. 4104's are a wonderful machine.
RnMaAdventures,
Yes, the paint was done by The Paint Department in Chino, California around 1985. (My math wasn't so good; it's only 26 years old!) The old brain isn't what it used to be! It is Burgundy/Silver two part epoxy PPG paint system.
Gary that bus is now owned by a fellow who opporates music city coaches in Nashville. I should know his name but have it down with his # if you ever wanted to chat with him.
What prompted me to post those photos is busted knuckles thread earlier on thet E-bay gm for 2500bucks
Those are the same buses Right?? close anyway. When I saw that old slug I thoght of this gem.
Is that warped or just a vivid imagination LOL The body on the e-bay was very good some paint and 4 new rims would transform it.
Joe, I just did some "Binging" and came up with this:
"The acquisition was part of a 10-year buyout contract between Gaylon Moore and former owner of Pyramid Coach Company Tim Dillman."
I believe Tim Dillman was the person the Cherryholmes sold the bus to. It makes sense if Gaylon Moore bought the company.
It makes me feel good that she is in good hands.
Thanks for posting.
Bingo thats him
Well neither of those own MUSIC CITY Coaches.
I know the original owner of Music City and she has passed it on to her son. I don't remember his name at the moment. I can call Patty (his mother) in the AM and find out!
My guess is that it's passed hands again.
;D BK ;D
Joe which is him? I'll verify with Patty in the AM.
;D BK ;D
Joe looks like I am mistaken on this one.
I know the owner of Music City Bus. http://www.musiccitybus.com/ (http://www.musiccitybus.com/)
Not the owner of Music City Coach! http://www.musiccitycoach.com/ (http://www.musiccitycoach.com/)
But hey at least I'm only mistaken and not wrong like I thought I might be! ;)
;D BK ;D
OK, my memory is coming back! It is Dwight Dillman, owner of Bill Monroe Music Park that the Cherryholmes sold the bus to. Tim Dillman of Music City Coaches must be related to Dwight Dillman.
Anyhow, the bus, "USBUSIN" as we called her for "us busin" or "U.S. busin" is apparently in good hands.
It's OK, BK we forgive you!
Tim Dilman is the guy I know to be that charter opporator and owner of that old GM. He sent me out to Ralph Stanleys house.
There is a name out of the past ever heard of that??
"oh Brother" hint LOL
