We just got back from another good trip in the bus from Minneapolis to Reno and back.
The only major problem with the bus was a coolant leak. I started to smell antifreeze and was telling the driver to pull onto the shoulder when the engine shutdown automatically due to no coolant in the expansion tank. Antifreeze was pouring out in the rear. It turns out the Gates Powergrip hose clamp I had used was too close to the turbo and it melted. I had another hose clamp and had it fixed in about 15 to 20 minutes. It took longer to put water into the radiator than it did to fix the problem.
Our trailer was a whole different issue. We had another axle issue this year that stranded us in Lovelock, NV for 15 hours. We're going to rework the trailer with leaf springs. If it was still my trailer I would sell it and buy a new one.
Hey, Brian. Sorry to hear about the coolant leak and the trailer problem. It's good to hear that you got the coolant fixed and back on the road quickly (lesson for today; carry spare hose clamps). Bummer about the big delay with the trailer - hope you get it sorted out so it's no problem in the future.
