Title: Crossover pipe sleeve leaking.....
Post by: Davidvan on April 18, 2006, 01:38:04 PM
I have a 77 mci 8 that has an exhaust leak in the crossover tube where it hooks into the muffler pipe.  The parts manual calls out some seal rings.  Is there an alternative to these rings (some sort of gasket or sealant)  or do I have to order them.  Would like to hit the road next week.....

thanks for the info.

Those rings look like piston rings, I think there are 3 or 4 of them. MCI is the only source I have found and they are really very proud of them. Last I checked, something along the lines of about $80 per ring.  That's why ours still leaks a little.  Jack
