http://rv.org/EB-16455.htm (http://rv.org/EB-16455.htm) is a good summary article. Corian is not as heavy as I thought it was, 1/2" thick about 4.5 lbs per square foot. That would make a typical 8 foot counter top probably around 50 lbs, after cut-outs.

Silestone is available at Home Depot. Silestone has a big Diesel truck that goes around the country to show their product-so it is fine for running in a bus. Silestone makes counter tops, flooring and wall covering out of quartz. Quartz has the advantage of never needing to be resealed, is easily cleanupable, can choose many designs, and just plainly looks nice (I prefer the look over granite). We have Silestone at home and my wife has left blueberry stains on the counter top for hours. With a little bit of non abrasive bleach cleaner, it comes right off. It isn't cheap, and it has to be professionally installed.
Corian looks good when new, but it scratches easily. You can sand Corian down, but it just doesn't have the shine that Silestone has. Good Luck, TomC
