Title: Who will scream"MY BRAKES ARE FROZEN" this year?

Well, how many winters do we see the unprepared typing in anguish as their air system returns the favour of poor maintenance by refusing to let the coach leave when the busnut wants it to?

So, I throw down the glove.

Those of you who practice good air system maintenance 365 days a year, enjoy your winter functionality.

The rest of you, get your coaches ready for freezing temperatures, starting now.

Or be in warm climates that are not concerned with freezing weather-like living in crazy Los Angeles. Good Luck, TomC

First thing to check, after you drain your wet tank, is if the purge valve heater on the air dryer is working as it should...

My entire problem last winter was because I had assumed I had a 24 volt purge valve when I replaced it some years ago.  I replaced the purge valve again with the proper 12 volt one and no more problems after I removed the plug of ice from the line and also replaced the air dryer dessicant cartridge.
