Title: Craigslist site listing
Post by: chuckd on August 27, 2011, 03:04:02 PM
Okay in order to find parts, buses, rvs, cars etc.  I have used jaxed.com as a site that has every craiglist site in the country on it, so you can find out who has got what where.  (notice I said buses, i.e.bus related).  They have been stopped by craigslist from doing this, why I do have a clue.  Does any one have any other site to access the US craigslistings.

TIA Chuckd

I use allofcraigs . com nothing fancy, it uses google search to scan craigslist, and sometimes shows old listings but it works, you can also choose by region in it if you want.

I use searchtempest.com.  It has been working well for a while, so I imagine that it will continue to do so because it still pulls up the actual craigslist page inside a new frame.  It seems that engines which try to extract data from CL and re-present them get blocked.

Wow Chuck, I used to use it too. Guess I won't be able to do that any more huh!  :'(

Thanks for the heads up, hopefully the guys here have an answer.

I too use searchtempest. You can also select to have it search ebay as well in the same results.

Chuck -

I wondered what happened at Jaxed Mash too.  Then I noticed a link up at the top, which took me to another page where it was revealed that Craigslist's attorneys sent Jaxed a "Cease & Desist" order.

Bummer.

But, with a little sleuthing, I found a direct email link to Craig Newmark, the founder of CL.  So I sent him a polite, but pointed, email voicing my disappointment with this decision.

I really wonder, however, if this move has been predicated by eBay's recent 25% ownership of CL. . .  Follow the money, eh?

FWIW & HTH. . .

If you use the "Advanced Search" on Google, you can specify a domain to search.

It's such a popular thing to search multiple areas for the same thing, I wonder why craigslist doesn't just make it available on their own site???
