Title: 96A3 front axle ride height - does anyone know?
Post by: Brian Diehl on August 27, 2011, 09:46:56 AM
The manual for my 96A3 lists the correct ride height for the rear axle.  It does not list the correct ride height for the front axle.  I called MCI at one time for the measurement, but I have apparently not written it down anywhere that I can find it.  Does anyone happen to know what the correct measurement from the axle to the bump stop should be?  My bus is a 1985 MCI 96A3 with the double convoluted air bag suspension.

Thanks in advance!

Note:  My current ride height is 5 1/8" from the bump stop pad to the body (not including the rubber).

Brian -

I don't have access to my literature at the moment, but for most of the air-suspended highway coaches, if you set the front ride height to give you 14 - 15" from level ground to the top of the bottom front entry step, you'll be real close.

FWIW & HTH. . .

Brian, I think you are right on with my 5C. I would think they are the same. My 5 calls for 3 1/8" from top of rubber to stop on the front and 3 9/16 on the rear.  Tom
