Title: New Bus Owner Intro
Post by: Tevo on August 26, 2011, 07:20:19 AM
Hi all, I've been reading the forum for a few weeks and my account got approved today so I figured I'd introduce myself. My wife and I are full-time RVers in our 30s, though we are more stationary for my wife's job and tend to stay in one place for extended periods. Currently, we're in Flagstaff, AZ.

We've spent the last year in a travel trailer and recently decided to try out the bus thing after we got the bug from a friend's bus. As of earlier this week we are the owners of a 1962 4106 and are already enjoying the headaches that come with bus ownership! We've been taking advantage of all the amazing knowledge you guys have already and hopefully one day I'll know enough to be able to contribute something as well. In the meantime, I'm just learning so thanks in advance for all the info you've already shared! I look forward to getting to know you all.

Trust us your hooked! It's not a life threatening disease, but you have it. It's called busnutidous.
Welcome and feel free to jump in anytime! (you may have useful ideas or knowledge in an area not many of us do!)

Flag is nice this time of the year, be sure and check out Sedonna (sp) and Jerome while you are in the area, the Little Grand Canyon on AZ 89 North is pretty spectacular too.

Welcome to the board.

You are not alone! We are also in our 30's, and bought a 1958 4104 in March. We are currently in Beaumont, TX. I travel nationwide for my work (construction). We are also in progress towards remodeling(read completely redoing) our bus, which is challenging considering us, and 3 rather large dogs are living in it also. Welcome to the site, lots and lots of knowledge here. Enjoy!

Thanks for the welcome everyone. The only picture I have handy is this one:

(https://busconversionmagazine.com/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fa5.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net%2Fhphotos-ak-snc7%2F299906_10101262143012101_2027378_81275703_3313671_n.jpg&hash=61ae890ec5c6cc86bc310d1b6c2d9ccd1af984dc)

As you can see, she is in dire need of a paint job and my first project is to try to reclaim some of the aluminum look and get fresh paint on the rest. I'm not sure where I'm going with the paint scheme yet, except that the black is gone, one way or the other.

I'm leaving in a few hours for a trip so I probably won't be back on til the 6th or so, but again, thanks everyone for the warm welcome!

Hey Gulfyankee
Where are you staying in Bmt?  I'm from there but am up in Wisconsin now.  Will look you up when we get home in Oct if you're still there.

Richard, I'm actually staying in Silsbee at Red Cloud RV Park. I'm starting a new job monday in Beaumont. I have acreage in Jasper, but, no utilities onsite yet. Staying here saves almost 2 hours a day in drive time, besides the gas expense!
