Isn't this Cats new version of the 3126? Have one (3126) in my truck conversion, 125,000+ miles and no problems.
Not that I have the cash to do the conversion but would one of the cat engines work in the place of my 6v92 in my eagle?
Just curious, I would love to get more power in her then the 6v92 can offer.
Eric
Yep Gary it is lot of improvement over the 3176 fwiw I called Cashmans in Vegas a Cat dealer the list price on that engine is around 35,000 new the way it sits.
I have no idea what I will do with one but I am going to try and buy 2 if the price is right lol
good luck
At least when I was specing the Caterpillar C7, the highest horsepower and torque was 330hp at 1,000lb/ft. It would be about on par with a 330hp 6V-92TA, but with better fuel mileage and about 500lbs lighters. Personally-I would go for at least the C9 which is a bit bigger with up to 400hp and 1250lb/ft torque in RV form. Good Luck, TomC
^^^thanks. Thats something that will have to happen later down the road. I would prefer a cummins tho.
Boy if I could just find the $ for 2 of them!
I would love to have one for our 96A3 and our Setra S215 that currently has an 8v92.
;D BK ;D
A C7 can go to 360 hp with 1150 lbs of torque some in the boats are 425 hp +
good luck
There's even a lot of 8v92's on the site, one new one and many take outs. They were probably used on the Hemitt, rated at 475 hp. May not be the right rotation for a bus. A few weeks ago they had brand new kits for an 8v92 with a turbo and jake brakes and other parts.
Speaking of Cat engines, If anyone wants a new C13 set at 410HP/1450lbs, fairly cheap, I am selling mine complete, turn key, including the exhaust system. It's got 1200 miles on it, 31hours on the engine clock.
It will also come with the flywheel to mount to an Allison B500, like it's hooked up to now.
Would be an easy drop in. ;)
