Brake lights work on Jakes but not pedal. Anybody?

Do you mean that the high mounted stop light comes on when the Jakes are on, or all of the brake lights come on when the Jakes are on? On my 89 only the high mount light comes on if the Jakes are on, and when the brake pedal is pushed the high mount plus the regular brake lights come on.
Nothing comes on when you push the peddle. If you have the jakes on they automatically come on without the peddle when slowing down. I will check the brake switch when I get it home this weekend.
You have a bad Sl-5 in the DS-2 valve or someone has installed a ground thinking they need a ground, but start with checking for electrical problems ( supply to the SL-5) in and out.
good luck
Thanks,

Check the relays. The Jake I think uses relay R-76. I think that is independent from the brake light curcuit so I would suggest starting at the relay for the brake lights and work backwards to the switch at the treadle.
I am posting this without looking at the electrical diagram (which you can access for your specific coach on the Prevost site) so spank me if I am giving you a bum steer.
Thanks guys. I have the schematics somewhere. Will check this weekend.
