Title: Update tax axle issues
Post by: wal1809 on August 22, 2011, 12:21:39 PM
Well alright God does look out for fools and small children, BTW I aint small and that leaves only one more choice ;D  Took the bus to a mechanic this morning to check and adjust the brakes.  I asked if they could look at the leak as well.  They found out the fill plug had backed it's way out so they filled it up and tightedned the plug.  No more leaks!!!

One of the tag tires had flat spot on it and the other needed replacing.  So they are replacing the tires and then we will venture on to the next issue of checking the index on tag axles.  So sor far it is just the cost of 2 tires and tighten a plug.  Whew!!

Hello Muldoon.  I am using Slivas automotive in Wallis, Texas which is south of Sealy.  I trust they know what they are doing but they have no idea what is going on so far as indexing the tag axle.  If I find a good shop for busses I will let you know.

There used to be a shop on I-10 west of Schulenberg, Texas.  They work on big trucks only.  The next time I get close I am going to stop and talk to them.

Yeah, I've seen the shop if it's on I 10. On the north side?

Yes Sir that is it.  I remember when I was a kid it was a little shop.  Over the years the shop has grown quite a bit.

I am not sure when I will be headed west on I-10 next but I will make it a point to introduce myself and find out what they have going on over there.  That would be pretty convenient for me if they can work on them, and I reckon you too as well.
