Anyone actually using a mini-split ductless a/c system on an MCI-8 or similar bus? I'm planning to mount the outdoor unit in the compartment where the old MCI a/c fan was located...just behind and to the left of the driver.
Yes I am using one in my bus and it has been in about 4 years now and works fine. Jerry
any pictures you could send me showing the inside unit, outside unit that may give me ideas on mounting, wiring, venting, etc.?

Bob Glines is using minisplits in his Prevost. Maybe he will chime in with his experience.

Few observations: make sure you don't recirculate your air on your outside(condenser) unit.I pupped air in Thur bottom of bay and exited Thur side of bus.I did use original bus condenser bay. Insulate all your copper tubing and protect from sharp edges. Keep runs a short as possible.If you are running heat also on your mini-split remember there will be condensate from the condenser during the heat cycle. Inside unit : I mounted mine where they would appear to be part of a cabinet but would actually be separate at bottom-so it you accidentally had moisture spill (con-dinstate) it would not effect the cabinet. Is the inside unit better to be mounted as low or high in the bus as possible to get the best colling affect? pics anybody?

Heat rises; cold settles. So you want to have it placed up as high as practical.
Inside unit should be mounted between 5 and 6 ft off floor. sucks hot air off roof and cools and circulates it.
