I have seen a few ceiling fans located in the shower. Supposedly, according to some, that is so they will exhaust the steam. I think in the old days I was told that that was so if you left the vent open and it rained you wouldn't soak the interior floor. So why would we put our "whole house" ventilation fan anywhere else and why would we ever invest in the technology associated with an "automatic closing rain sensor fan"? Enquiringly minds and all that.

John -
There you go, screwing with people's heads again!
Here I've been thinking why doesn't Fantastic and/or Maxx incorporate small solar panels into their vent covers so you wouldn't have to run electrical to the fans, and you come along and throw out a philosophical question!
I think I need another Pepsi. . .
;)
Hey RJ: The PO of my 4106 had a solar panel wired to a bath Fantastic unit. Before I figured it out we had problems making the darn thing run at night. One rewire job completed.
Red,
You crack me up. Was that fan one of those that automatically closes if it starts to rain? Except at night? ;D
John
Yep, thats the one.
