i plan on bidding unless it goes price crazy check it out and give me some feedback anyone from idado ? thanks john
That is an extremely weird motorcoach! Looks well made and fun, but man, there is a lot of stuff packed in there!
Brian
Looks cool, but you have to be skinny to go from point A to point B.
And where is the Detroit Diesel?
;D
for 29 ft its got a lot of space looks well built over $ 200.000 in 87 that was a lot of money back then
John,
Looks pretty cool. You'd certainly be the talk of the campground. It does look a little tight inside. Wouldn't work too well for larger persons, such as me. You know that BBC, while a pretty good engine, will get terrible mileage pushing it around.
Here's a direct link for those interested:

I say you should go for it.
Bob
Definitely a "horse of a different color" for sure. You buy this and best figure on being an Orphan (no one will have any info on it and good luck on parts) but if this is your dream ... go for it.
BCO
A cummins conversion would be a nice upgrade ;D
That thing is big and little all at the same time. :-\
bob i am about 220 lbs your right might be tight the owner is a string been . other thing is i just mapquested it from there to jacks
place is 2700 miles its built like a boat inside even the steps it is cool looking
What about that Skoolie on eBay that has the two vw busses on top of it.. that is WAAAAAAAY cool ;D
Reminds me of the VW Westfalia- cramped but a lot of fun. You had to love them. And forgive a little. I wonder how big the fresh water tank and water heater are to support that tub.
My opinion is --- Do it your way. If you want it , go for it. What's it matter what other people thing. They'll be as many that like it as those that don't.
Talk about parts, my 4106 is a nightmare to get stuff for (unless you ask Clifford).
just talk to owner said ask away he even whent out to coach as i looked at pics and went over area by area still interested
gas milage is not good he gets 5.5-6 mpg towing a car on a tow dolly so who knows gas milage not towing ?? maybe 6-7 ??
the bad the former owner sprayed bed linner on front as a bra and the split a/c the wires are not conected to power ?
i wonder if a cummins 5.9 would get better fuel milage ? john

Just remember that there are two basic versions of the 5.9-liter cummins, which in my opinion is an awesome and very-reliable engine. One is the electronic version designed for the Dodge pickups (Tipically 225-330 horses). The other is the mechanical workhorse version designed for school buses and mid-size trucks (Tipically 225-330 horses). On our 28-passenger skoolie, we have the latter, feeding a 5-speed manual tranny. Loaded full of kids, luggage and ten days' worth of supplies for missions trips, and climbing mountains as high as 11,000 feet, I can count on ten miles per gallon. Our bus is a 1992 Ford B700, and does not use a drop of oil between changes. For your application, I would not choose the pickup version, though it has more horsepower, but less torque.
It is easy to get these engines pretty cheap in good condition if you buy a used skoolie.
My two pesos' worth of info.
;D
thanks mex-busnut 10 mpg sounds good i wonder if the cooling systems need to be changed

Hey, John:
I forgot you are in Costa Rica. I saw a couple of million old American skoolies in Nicaragua when I was there last month (my fourth trip there). Amazing what they do with what America gets rid of. My previous trips to Nicky were all under the leftist regime (1989-1991), and back then, it was mostly East German, Hungarian or Russian busses.
I wish you success in your project.
as already mentioned the cummins would get alot better mileage. In my pickup (yes I know its not the same) I can get as high as 20 mpg with a car trailer on the highway. Its a auto trans and 2 wheel drive. My old cummins truck got around 16 pulling a 30 ft. goose neck with two cars on it down the high way. It was a 2 wheel drive also but had the 5 spd. Man I miss that truck. :-\ The drive train actually ended up in Hitlers mercedes when it was restored and sold at Cruise Auction park.

What parts are hard to get? Vintage GM buses are the easiest to get parts for of all manufactures. Yes, even over MCI who is still making buses! What am I missing?
