I see there is a DD tester on E-Bay item # 170678033494 I have no interest, just thought it may help someone.
Does anybody know exactly what this thing can do? Anyone know if it does more than just read out codes?
Looks like an early version of the ProLink. I see the Nexiq name - the folks who make ProLink.
Unbelievable low price - even for an old unit. The newer graphic units go for $800 - 1200 depending on the cards that the seller has.
The units are made to read ECU for electronic engines. They read the data and can make some minor changes to the ECM software.
The newer units come with a PCMCIA looking card that can read any diesel engine the operates on SAE J1708 protocol (big diesel engines). Then each series/manufacture has a card designed just for that series of engines. There are also cards for Allison and ABS brake systems.

Well, I made a run at it to see if I could "steal" it. It went for $104 which is very low.
Anybody here buy it?

Looks the same as my Kent/Moore must be about the time frame when Kent sold the DD to Pro/Link no returns and the by it now price made me nervous of that one it sold for 104.00 hope it works or someone bought a 104 dollar case lol I bought a 75 dollar Kent/Moore case
good luck
I did place a bid, but I didn't get it. I wasn't willing to spend a whole lot, especially with the $45 shipping.
I opened the bidding I could see the manuals and cable but couldn't see the cartridges for the unit you never know about buying electronic stuff on a ebay kinda like the lottery with me
