It has sagged a little ever since Rob and Nick got it.  The shot in the video makes it look worse that it really is, just one of the many issues that need addressing on a 45 year old bus.

Brings back memories... I was assigned a 5A for the summer of '75 when I drove for Brewster's out of Banff in the Canadian Rockies. Loved it! It had the high speed rear end (3.36?) and would go 80 mph or more. 5s are great buses.

Keep these videos coming.

Really love all of their youtube video's on the MC5.  I am constantly searching for new ones of the older buses... primarily good video's with engine sounds and a good view from the windshield.  Not a lot of those good ones out there but there are a few.

One of the happiest sounds in the world - pushing the button on a cold 8V-71.  Two cranks, running, roll about twice and steady idle...  I just love it.  I used to start mine just to hear that!  I think you have a good runner there!

I dont know what mine has for gears, but bringing it home I more than once saw the speedo swing past 75 and quickly slowed back down (old tires). I had the wife pace me with the Ford after I got near home and doing 55 indicated she said I was doing 53, or something like that, and the Fords pretty accurate. IIRC the other ratios wouldnt allow anything near that fast? And it still made it up my steep drive!! I got to get it back out and drive it some more, if for nothing else just to keep the project moving.

When pulling my Mercedes 300 Turbodiesel behind my bus, I came upon a 5B and we both went up the hill on 58 out of Bakersfield towards Barstow.  His stock 5B with non turbo 8V-71 stayed with my turbo'd 8V-71 pulling my car-so they perform quite well.  Good Luck, TomC
