Any of you busnuts going to attend the FMCA Convention in Madison, Wis. this year? If you are please advise. Perhaps we could have an ice tea together. We have not been to an FMCA convention in years and are starting a three month trip from there. Going out across the northern states to Washington, Oregon and down the coast thru California to Palm Springs. Then coming back across the southern states to be back in Ohio around Thanksgiving. If any of you are on our route and would like some ice tea please advise by separate email to VPrideonetwo@aol.com. Happy Trails......
What are the dates? We are supposed to be in Madison by September 18, to drop off our precious daughter.
[Edit] Never mind. Just found the dates on the website. A month before we get up there. Shucks.
Aug 10-13
There is a FMCA bus chapter - CVC. They will have a prerally. They have had good food and you meet other bus people from across the country. It is nice because you can drive into the convention and park as a group. In the past, they were able to get very good parking. I don't know how good now though.

We would normally be there as a vendor, but we made the decision that we would cut back on trade shows this year. Just too expensive and the attendance keeps dropping. Those that are there keep a pretty tight reign on their billfolds.
In years past, the attendance would be 7000 units. These past few years, FMCA is lucky to draw 2500 at the two big shows (only one big rally next year).
There will still be lots of vendors there and it is fun to see what is new. The show has morphed into more of what I call "trinkets" as opposed to hard core RV booths.
The Converted Coach Chapter is having a pre-rally. See pasted information below.

...our rally which will start Thursday August 4 thru the 6 th at the above address If you would still like to register call Gene Hellman at 608 269 2512
The CVC, like other organizations is struggling. Most of the active members have moved on to medium to high level S&S units. There is usually a few buses. Might be worth talking to Gene (really nice fellow).
FMCA rallies are not for everyone, but we always enjoyed them - both as attendees and vendors.
Ed posted at the same time as I was typing, but I will post my comments anyway.
