Title: fuel fittings
Post by: rcbeam on July 07, 2011, 02:26:21 PM
What should I use to seal brass fuel screw fitting connections?  Seems like I've read most don't like teflon tape.  I am redoing some of the fittings at the filter housings, etc and don't want any more lost prime issues or leaks.

Thanks again,

I've been using gas pipe dope.  It seems to work fine.  I use a lot of the Loctite liquid teflon dope too, on my race cars, but it's not rated (as far as I know) for gas so I happen to have a couple tubes of the other stuff.

Never heard of liquid teflon... I'll have to see if I can find that... if not, might just use pipe dope.

I use this stuff. http://www.rectorseal.com/index.php?site_id=1&product_id=214 (http://www.rectorseal.com/index.php?site_id=1&product_id=214) You can often get it from your local plumbing supply store. It is awesome stuff!
